چکیده

Abstract Fifty cow-calf pairs were used to investigate the influence of trace mineral (TM) source on reproductive performance following embryo transfer. Cows blocked by BW and breed sorted into pens containing 5 pairs. Each group was randomly assigned one treatments: 1) Organic TM (OTM): 75 mg Cu from proteinate, 8 Co 105 Mn 3 Se Sel-Plex, 220 Zn animal-1∙d-1; 2) Inorganic (ITM): 255 sulfate, 2.6 carbonate, 1018 sodium selenate, 763 animal-1∙d-1. All cows fed a roughage-based diet with no supplemental Cu, Co, Mn, Se, or Zn. individually 0.9 kg appropriate supplement pellets daily deliver treatments for 89-d, starting 5-d after estrous synchronization. Estrous synchronized in all d 0 experiment received embryos 8-d expressing estrous. Serum plasma obtained every 28-d analyzed hormones TM, respectively. Data as randomized block design R (version 4.0.5). Reproductive hormone concentrations similar across treatments. receiving OTM had greater (P < 0.05) when compared ITM. There treatment x time interaction 0.03). Copper decreased over ITM supplemented increased cows. These data suggest that did not impact but improve status 94-d experiment.

Influence of source and amount of dietary protein on performance, blood metabolites, and reproductive function of primiparous beef cows.

Forty Angus x Hereford 2-yr-old primiparous cows (358 kg) were used to determine the effects of source and amount of CP on performance, reproductive function, and metabolic status of suckled primiparous cows. A 2 x 2 factorial treatment arrangement was used; cows received either 100 or 150% of NRC recommendations for CP in diets that contained either soybean meal (low escape = L) or corn gluten...

Calm temperament improves reproductive performance of beef cows.

Profitability of a beef operation is determined by the proportion of cows attaining pregnancy early in the breeding season and those that are pregnant at the end of breeding season. Many factors, including temperament, contribute to those reproductive parameters. The objective of this study was to evaluate effects of temperament on reproductive performance of beef cows. In Experiment 1, Angus a...
